About
Every girl is faced the harsh reality that life isn’t fair.
It doesn’t matter who you are, what your social status is, your financial status, your skin colour, your hair, your eye colour, your height, your weight, your ethnicity, your orientation.
Life is unfair for you if you are a girl.
Society places unattainable ideals into the minds of women and young girls EVERY SINGLE DAY. We are bombarded with images telling us that we’re not perfect!
Diets claiming they will make us: Thinner, leaner, sexier, more beautiful, tighter, prettier etc
The Hair Care and Makeup industries claiming they can: Fix, retouch, help, cure all of our many flaws
75% of 8-9 year old girls say they like the way they look, only 56% of 12-14 year olds feel the same!
92% of girls say they want to change at least one part of their physical appearance, with weight ranking the highest!
This blog has been created as a platform for my fundraiser, my goal is to raise $1000.00 dollars for Girls Inc!
“Picture the world through the eyes of a Girls Inc.girl. She belongs to a community that empowers her to pursue the biggest dreams she can dream. She is uplifted by the strength of a national organization that is committed to inspiring the leaders of tomorrow.” -Girls Inc
